Leadership Development

Good schools begin with great leaders. School leaders, Principals, must create and share a plan for a transformed school environment. They must rethink their operations and procedures to best meet the needs of their staff and students, and also plan for an unknown school year. Principals must adhere to district guidelines for returning to a school site, and adapt them, as appropriate to suit their local conditions. (They must think globally and act locally.)

Principals need support in running schools in light of the "new normal". It might be beneficial to convene a well-respected, local Ad Hoc Advisory group, including medical and business/community leaders to help them plan locally. The Ad Hoc Advisory group can assist in making decisions regarding campus design/recommendations based on actual data.

The Council has developed several Leadership Development programs: Florida Leadership Academy; Assistant Principal Leadership Forums; Commissioners Leadership Academy; Instructional Leadership Academy; and Regional Forums. Procedures, Evaluations, and reports can be found by clicking on any of the hyperlinks below.

Unfortunately, the Council was one of the casualties of the Covid virus and had to close its doors in 2021. For more information on Council programs please contact Dr. Elaine Liftin, (liftinela@aol.com and/or 305-775-5161).
